Intelance is building a trusted associate team for identity governance and access control work in regulated and complex organisations. We are looking for a Senior IGA Consultant to turn access evidence into clear findings, practical access rules and delivery ready actions. The first likely assignment supports a financial services client reviewing who can see and change sensitive client information across Microsoft, data and business platforms. This is an associate contract. Work is assigned through paid work orders after client approval. The first assignment is expected to be a focused number of delivery days, with the possibility of later pilot, access review and recurring governance work. Tasks Working with the Engagement Director and Principal IAM Consultant, you will: • Analyse user, group, role, permission and service account exports. • Reconcile technical access with the business reason for access. • Identify broad, stale, direct and conflicting access, and record the evidence for each point. • Carry out role mining and draft role and access matrices. • Test joiner, role change and leaver controls, including where old access is removed. • Draft clear findings that state the system, affected access, evidence, risk and required decision. • Support access reviews and certification so business owners can make informed decisions. • Review privileged accounts, service accounts and integration identities. • Support access testing for Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and connected business systems. • Maintain the findings register, evidence record and implementation backlog. • Support pilot testing and confirm that completed changes match the approved design. You will not be expected to act as the overall design authority. The Principal IAM Consultant owns the target access design and final technical challenge. We work with mid-market, enterprise and regulated organisations across cyber assurance, governance, risk and technology. We are appointing professionals who already hold formal UK Cyber Security Council (UKCSC) registration in Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management at Principal or Chartered level, to join our associate panel and support the assessment and advisory of large, complex organisations. This is not permanent employment. Work is offered on a project-by-project basis according to client demand, suitability and availability. There is no guaranteed volume of work. Please note: current UKCSC registration in Cyber Security Governance and Risk Management at Principal or Chartered level is an essential requirement for this role. Applications without it will not be progressed. Tasks You may be asked to: Lead independent cyber governance and risk reviews for large, complex and regulated organisations. Assess risk appetite, risk ownership, control effectiveness and risk-treatment decisions. Review policies, risk registers, control mappings, assurance evidence and governance arrangements. Judge whether evidence supports the conclusions presented to senior leaders. Explain cyber risks and control gaps clearly to boards, executives and non-technical stakeholders. You will turn business access needs, system evidence and security requirements into a clear access model that teams can implement and operate. Tasks Your work will include: • Leading the design of identity governance and data access models across Microsoft and business platforms. • Challenging discovery findings before they are presented to senior client stakeholders. • Mapping who should see and change client, fund and confidential business information. • Designing access rules for joiners, role changes and leavers. • Defining roles, groups, approval routes, access reviews and controlled exceptions. • Reviewing service accounts, integrations and delegated access. • Connecting Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, data platforms and business applications into one workable design. • Turning the design into clear implementation steps, dependencies and evidence of completion. • Working directly with technology, security, data and business leaders. • Providing proportionate assurance during pilot and delivery work.
