Legal Services NYC (LSNYC) fights poverty and seeks racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. For over 50 years, we have challenged systemic injustices that trap people in poverty and provided legal services that help our clients meet basic needs for housing, income and economic security, family and immigration stability, education, and health care. LSNYC is the largest civil legal services provider in the country; our staff of more than 600 people in neighborhood-based offices and outreach sites across all five boroughs helps hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers annually. Legal Services NYC seeks one intake paralegal to staff the Access Line, our citywide intake hotline. Access Line paralegals perform an essential role in our agency. The team serves as an important front line for our work and responds in real time to low-income individuals and families seeking legal help. Access Line paralegal duties include answering phones, performing eligibility screening, entering client information into a database, writing case notes, giving advice under the supervision of an attorney, scheduling appointments, sending appointment letters and follow-up information to clients, and providing outside referrals. Access Line paralegals may also be asked to perform off-site intake outside of regular business hours. Job Requirements About the Role The Valuer â Gold Loan plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of gold loan valuations across branches pan-India. This role involves assessing the purity and value of gold collateral, supporting disbursal processes, conducting audits, and training branch staff. The incumbent is expected to uphold the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and compliance while contributing to customer acquisition and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Conduct gold loan valuations using standardized methods and tools. Perform thorough checks to assess the purity of gold collateral. Ensure timely disbursal of cases within defined turnaround times (TAT). Visit nearby branches for stock audits and valuation activities. Monitor delinquent cases and support branches in managing portfolio quality. Deliver training sessions to branch staff on gold loan valuation and fraud awareness. Maintain integrity and transparency in all transactions, avoiding any direct or indirect personal interest. Conduct customer reference checks with sincerity and professionalism. Uphold confidentiality of client information and ensure it is not shared with competitors. Adhere strictly to company policies and ensure they are not disclosed outside the organization. Safeguard company assets provided for job responsibilities. Secondary Responsibilities Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth functioning of valuation processes. What We Are Looking For Education Graduation: Full time graduate in any discipline from a recognised institution. Post-graduation: Postgraduate in any discipline from a recognised institution.
