Your creative field We are looking for two full-time, permanent Senior Frontend Developer (all genders) t o start as soon as possible . We live remote-first within Germany , but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations. You’ll become an integral part of a new team which is going to be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Contabo's new product line. You’ll be part of a new team in a green field scenario making design, code and infrastructure decisions based on our product strategy and time-to-market. We’re looking for brave, pragmatic risk takers who find a balance between speed and perfectionism, who participate in on-call but also proactively work with the team on improving the redundancy and up-time of our systems. Your main focus is going to be on everything our customers can touch or use to interact with our platform – mainly GUI but also other cloud-native open source tools like terraform or CLIs etc, making sure we develop in the open with an active presence. You’ll be building on-top of an API teams and working closely with UX designers to build the best customer experience possible. Since the product is new you’ll have the chance to develop from the ground up, develop fast, fix fast and bring learnings back into the team. Standardise API’s but also join in on shaping the design of the product with integration to design frameworks. We live remote-first, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations. You open your laptop in the morning and know that today will probably be different from what you planned. Maybe you're in a refinement session and realise halfway through that the proposed solution won't hold up at scale. Maybe a developer asks a question that makes you rethink a concept you thought was finished last week. Some days are structured, some aren't – but you know how to work with both. This isn't a greenfield. At Contabo Group, two systems run in parallel: a PHP monolith with 15 years in production, grown across multiple teams and generations of decisions and a younger microservice system with a message broker built over the last few years. Together they serve more than 250,000 customers worldwide. You know that a landscape like this has its own logic and that you don't redraw it from scratch, but take the time to understand it before you start changing it. Your job is to develop this landscape further. That means retiring legacy systems where it makes sense, keeping the architecture clean even when there's business pressure to cut corners, and bringing teams along rather than issuing mandates. You own the solution architecture across software, infrastructure and networking – and you make sure decisions are made transparently, not in a vacuum.
