We are looking for a freelance Senior Industry Adviser with deep UK pensions administration experience to provide an independent practical check on technology assessment findings. This is a focused advisory role. You will test whether proposed technology and operating changes make sense for pensions administration. A typical assignment may involve around two days split between a findings review and review of the final report. Scope and days are agreed separately. Primarily remote within the UK. Tasks Review findings about pensions administration systems and their connections to other services. Test proposed changes against operational needs, service quality and delivery constraints. Challenge weak assumptions about internal teams, suppliers and transition risks. Help architects distinguish genuine business requirements from platform preferences. Review relevant recommendations and explain any practical concerns clearly. Work with client specialists while respecting their existing pensions knowledge. Requirements Senior operational, consulting or technology leadership experience in UK pensions administration. Direct knowledge of administration processes, data quality, system interfaces and supplier delivery. Experience reviewing technology or operating changes affecting pensions services. Able to give independent advice without promoting a particular platform or supplier. Confident discussing findings with senior technology and business leaders. Able to disclose and manage relevant conflicts of interest before accepting an assignment. Benefits £1,000 to £1,500 per day, depending on relevant experience. Rates exclude VAT where applicable. We are looking for a freelance Technology Cost Analyst to build clear, evidence based views of technology spending for client assessments. You will work with finance, technology leaders and architects to compare team costs, supplier costs and future options. Assignments may involve around seven days spread across the evidence review and recommendations stages. Scope and days are agreed for each assignment. Primarily remote within the UK. Tasks Collect and reconcile technology team, supplier, licensing and hosting costs. Make cost definitions consistent so comparisons are fair. Compare internal delivery with supplier options, including transition costs. Build first year cost estimates for proposed changes with the architects. Use credible peer comparisons where evidence permits, and explain limitations. Produce clear Excel models and concise findings that senior leaders can check. Requirements Experience analysing technology expenditure, IT finance or consulting cost models. Strong Excel skills and clear, traceable calculations. Able to distinguish recurring costs, one off costs, cash savings and capacity released. Experience comparing supplier costs and internal team costs on a consistent basis. Comfortable working with incomplete evidence and stating assumptions clearly. Financial services experience is useful. FinOps or technology business management experience is welcome. We are looking for a freelance Principal Enterprise Architect to lead detailed architecture work within financial services assessments. You will work directly with Intelance’s engagement partner, who remains accountable for the overall engagement. The work connects business systems, data, Microsoft services, cloud hosting and delivery responsibilities. Assignments may involve around 16 days across an eight week assessment. Scope and days are agreed for each assignment. Primarily remote within the UK, with occasional client meetings agreed in advance. Tasks Review application inventories, architecture diagrams and existing technology assessments. Interview technology and business owners and test the evidence behind their current setup. Map key systems, data flows, dependencies and ownership. Develop practical future architecture and compare delivery options. Estimate the work, costs and dependencies behind proposed changes. Write clear findings and recommendations for technology leaders and executive audiences. Requirements Experience leading enterprise architecture assessments in financial services or a closely related regulated environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, data platforms and system integration. Able to connect technical choices with business priorities, supplier arrangements and cost. Experience producing both current state maps and practical future designs. Clear writing and confident discussion with senior business and technology leaders. Pensions administration experience is useful but not essential. TOGAF or equivalent practical architecture experience is welcome. Benefits £750 to £875 per day, depending on relevant experience.
