What we do MAIA is an AI platform for companies. With MAIA, teams search their internal data and embed agents deep into their processes. We help companies use AI not just in individual departments, but across the entire organisation. On a technical level, this means: we build a GenAI application with our own agent systems, RAG pipelines and agent-based workflows, connect our customers' external systems and analyse their data. We use the best available models, operated in the EU, and make them reliable for demanding work with large, complex datasets. Many industrial companies have been using MAIA intensively for years. Following our successful 2026 funding round, we are now taking MAIA to a broader market. MAIA has been developed in Leipzig since 2021. What you'll do As a Software Engineer, you develop MAIA further and help decide from the start how we solve problems. What you can work on: From concept to feature. Together with product management, you sharpen rough concepts and own features from prototype to continuous improvement based on feedback and usage data. Chat and agents. You shape how people work with MAIA: asking questions, providing context and letting agents complete multi-step tasks, with traceable progress and verifiable results. Unlocking company knowledge. You connect external systems and make knowledge from many different file formats usable. This way, MAIA finds the right passages, delivers answers with sources and respects existing access rights. Models and quality. You integrate new language models and compare quality, cost and speed. With evals, you detect errors and systematically improve answers and agents. Secure, fast and stable. You build isolated environments for running code and tools and improve response times and data processing, so that MAIA runs reliably even with large knowledge bases. What you'll do As a Product Engineer, you own features from start to finish: from conversations with customers and concept work through to implementation and continuous improvement in production. What you can work on: Understanding customers and the market. You talk to users, join customer meetings and analyse usage data. This way, you find out where MAIA can help most in people's daily work. You work closely with product management and customer success. From problem to concept. You write concepts, build prototypes to test ideas quickly, and slice features so they reach users early. Building across the full stack. You write the implementation plan, let coding agents implement it, and own architecture and quality, from the data model to the user interface. Worum es geht MAIA ist eine KI-Plattform für Unternehmen. Mit MAIA durchsuchen Teams ihre internen Daten und verankern Agenten tief in ihren Prozessen. Wir begleiten Unternehmen dabei, KI nicht nur in einzelnen Abteilungen, sondern im ganzen Unternehmen einzusetzen. Technisch heißt das: Wir bauen eine GenAI-Anwendung mit eigenen Agentensystemen, RAG-Pipelines und agentenbasierten Workflows, binden externe Systeme unserer Kunden an und analysieren ihre Daten. Wir nutzen die besten verfügbaren Modelle, betrieben in der EU, und machen sie verlässlich für anspruchsvolle Arbeit mit großen, komplexen Datenmengen. Entwickelt wird MAIA seit 2021 in Leipzig. Was du bei uns machst Als Lead AI Engineer führst du unser Engineering-Team, entwickelst rund drei Viertel deiner Zeit selbst mit und arbeitest eng mit unserem CTO zusammen. Deine Schwerpunkte: Selbst entwickeln. Du übernimmst anspruchsvolle Features und Architekturthemen in unseren Agenten-, RAG- und Workflow-Systemen und schreibst Pläne, an denen sich andere orientieren. Technische Richtung. Du triffst wichtige Designentscheidungen mit, priorisierst gemeinsam mit dem CTO die technische Roadmap und treibst die technische Vision von MAIA voran. Das Team anführen.
