Intelance is appointing an Oracle Technical Architect as a contract associate for the definition phase of a major UK enterprise technology programme. You will work with Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect and Lead Integration Architect to confirm how the Oracle estate should support a staged integration programme. The current environment includes Oracle Database 19c, IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard. This is a focused architecture and assurance role. The expected commitment is about 10 days across an 8 to 10 week period. Delivery will be mainly remote, with limited planned travel where needed. Tasks Verify the current Oracle database, infrastructure, resilience and integration position. Confirm the planned Oracle 19c, IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard changes and the dependencies they create. Define which data and business rules must remain within Oracle. Define the safe boundary between Oracle and the future integration platform. Review existing direct connections and identify the highest risk dependencies. Set requirements for availability, backup, recovery, performance, monitoring and support. Assess whether planned Oracle and infrastructure investments remain suitable. Provide Oracle requirements for platform and supplier selection. Estimate specialist effort, dependencies, risks and likely delivery stages. Produce clear technical findings and practical recommendations. Requirements At least 10 years working with enterprise Oracle estates. Strong recent architecture experience with Oracle Database 19c. Strong hands on or design experience with IBM AIX and Oracle Data Guard. Experience with highly available, business critical Oracle environments. Experience reviewing Oracle integrations, interfaces, batch jobs, files and database links. Strong understanding of backup, recovery, patching, performance, resilience and security. You will provide a focused security review of the proposed integration approach and work with Intelance's Chief Enterprise Architect, Lead Integration Architect and Oracle Technical Architect. The work will set the security requirements for how systems, APIs, files, identities and sensitive data connect. The expected commitment is about 5 days across an 8 to 10 week period. Delivery will be mainly remote, with limited planned travel where needed. Tasks Review the current security controls affecting integrations, Oracle, bespoke applications and external connections. Define security requirements for APIs, messaging, file transfer and service accounts. Set identity, access, authentication, authorisation and privileged access requirements. Define encryption, key and secret management requirements. Define logging, monitoring, alerting and audit requirements. Review network boundaries and data flows for security risks. Identify the controls required before a connection can go live. Provide security questions and scoring criteria for platform and supplier selection. Rank security risks and recommend practical treatment. Produce a concise security architecture review and requirements set. Requirements At least 8 years of security architecture experience. Strong recent experience designing security for APIs and enterprise integrations. Strong knowledge of identity and access, service accounts, secrets, encryption, API gateways, network separation, logging and monitoring. Experience working across legacy systems and modern integration platforms. Able to run threat modelling and turn risks into clear technical requirements. This project based contract role is for someone who can understand how decisions are made, find where ownership or information is unclear, and give senior leaders a plan they can use. Tasks You will: Lead current state enterprise architecture reviews from the first interview to the executive readout. Interview senior business and technology leaders, then explain the findings in plain English. Map how decisions are made across applications, data, integration, security, operations and change. Test early findings against real decisions, documents and other evidence. Identify unclear ownership, duplicated effort, avoidable risk and important dependencies. Design practical options, clear decision rights and a costed roadmap. Produce board ready reports, diagrams and presentations. Work with Intelance associates while owning the quality of the work and the client relationship. Requirements You must have: At least 10 years of enterprise architecture, business architecture or technology governance experience. Personally led a current state assessment from discovery through to an executive readout. Experience interviewing and presenting to Board, COO, CIO or equivalent leaders. Strong knowledge of applications, data, integration, security, operating models and technology governance. Recent work in a law firm, professional services partnership, financial services firm or another regulated organisation. Evidence that you can turn complex findings into clear written advice and practical decisions. The confidence to challenge senior people calmly and work without depending on a large consulting team.
