This checks how you operate under real time pressure — do you cut corners blindly, or do you make deliberate, communicated tradeoffs about what to cut?

What a strong answer covers

• Why the deadline was tight — an external commitment, a competitive pressure, a mistake elsewhere that compressed your timeline
• The specific tradeoffs you made to hit it: what you cut, deferred, or simplified, and why those particular choices were the right ones to make
• How you communicated the tradeoffs to stakeholders, rather than silently cutting corners they didn't know about
• What happened to the deferred work afterward — did it actually get addressed, or quietly disappear? Following through is a strong signal

Common pitfalls

• A story where you just "worked harder" with no real tradeoff decisions described
• No mention of communicating what was cut or simplified to whoever needed to know
