The General Merchandise Department Manager at Walmart plays a key leadership role in delivering a great customer experience by keeping the sales floor stocked, organized, and ready for business. WHAT YOU'LL DO Deliver An Excellent Customer Experience Provides friendly and professional customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product selection, promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and resolving concerns or referring them as appropriate. Execute Daily Merchandising and Availability Tasks Delegates, supports, and follows up on the completion of Customer Availability Process tasks, including section work, capping bins, and stocking picks. Price Changes, Features, and Modular Execution Delegates, supports, and follows up on the completion of price changes, feature sets, and modulars within assigned areas to maintain merchandise accuracy and presentation standards. Sales Floor Coverage and Recovery Assigns associates to support coverage as needed across the sales floor and provides support with recovery and zoning activities to keep the store customer-ready. Associate Scheduling and Break Coverage Ensures associate breaks are taken in accordance with coverage requirements to support smooth operations. Associate Training and Coaching Provides training, coaching, and ongoing feedback to associates to support performance, development, and engagement.
